The Legend Of Old Man Morri
The Man behind the man behind the myth....This Photo was Taken Back in 1901 in Strathalbyn , Adelaide. This photo is one of only six surviving pictures of him that were saved from the great fire of Sailsbury, in 1911.This shows Old Man Morri at work on his farm circa 1890's. Some historians belive that this was the actual photo taken on the day that Old Man Morri invented Courtesy Cup.
Most people dont know that Old Man Morri was quite famous for being well known. He was born in a small shed about 25km west of a town called Benshed. He worked most of his life as a sheep farmer but spent allot of time involved in local commnity fund raising ventures. Probably his most famous fund raiser was when old man Morri walked across lake Alexandrena with cork boards attached to his shoes to raise money for orphaned children.
